Chapter 8: Motivation and Goals
In this chapter, we're going to look at motivation and goals. Why is this important to golfers? Unless you're motivated to play, you won't do it. Unless you're motivated to practice, you will never practice enough to play at your potential. Goals provide the motivation whether they are spoken or not. You might not recognize your goals at a conscious level but they will be working in the background providing the drive and motivation to take action. Motivation and goals are the driving force to do what you need to do to play golf, to practice golf, and to play golf at your best. You must have some motivation even to play at a mediocre level.
If I show up at a golf tournament, my number-one goal is just to win. To do
whatever it takes to accomplish that, but to win.

Goals
Let's talk about goals. To develop quality goals that serve you, you need some idea about your mission in life and how your goals fit into that mission.
