Hit Longer and Straighter
Here's a simple tip to get more out of your long shots. Go to the range and practice hitting full swing shots. Remember to focus on a specific target to train your brain to focus when you are doing this.
After you have warmed up, take a couple of practice swings as hard as you can. I do this by swinging a foot above the ball with more of a baseball swing. Try hitting a few shots with this maximum swing speed. Then throttle back to about 90% and hit a few more. Then 80% and hit a few more. Continue swinging easier and easier until you have hit at about 50%. Notice where you have the most distance with control.
Repeat this practice regularly for a few weeks. It will give your brain new information about your swing. It will allow you to find your most efficient swing speed. Over time, you may find that your distance and accuracy have improved.
See Chapter 11 - Practice in EFT and Golf: The New Mental Game Manual for more tips on how to get the most out of your practice time.
